ASTM F 2322-03 Physical Assault Test: The Impact Load Test is conducted in accordance with ASTM F- 2322-03 Standard Test Methods for Physical Assault on Fixed Vertical Barriers for Detention and Correctional Facilities and provides a measure of a wall system’s ability to withstand the treatment it can receive under inmate assault conditions. The precast concrete wall is subjected to a series of impact loads from a pendulum ram. The repetitive impact load and quantity are based on the standards established by ASTM and are based on the assumed total number of impacts and impact energy per blow to which the wall would be subjected by a person with a sledgehammer or several persons with a battering ram. Upon completion of the impact testing it is required that no breach be created large enough to allow means of escape. |
