New York School Expansion to use
Oldcastle's New NT32 Module to fast-track project.
Springs Union School officials had a need for a fast reaction
construction method that would result in a facility that has structural
integrity. Oldcastles' NT32 building component provided that solution. The
School Blocks NT32 system is designed as a fast-track construction system which
integrates a series of pre-manufactured precast concrete building components
with the purpose of creating secure, high quality, durable classrooms and open
spaces.
Oldcastle Precast Modular Group was awarded the precast
contract for the new 7 classroom expansion at Springs Union School in East
Hampton, New York . The full precast construction of the new $1,700,000 - 8,820
square foot expansion- is the first of its kind. This is the first time a
classroom expansion has been designed utilizing the new NT32 building component
engineered and designed by Oldcastle Precast.
Oldcastle will be
designing, engineering and producing the twenty-eight (28) NT32 school blocks
components, with a bricked exterior finish, that will create the seven (7), 864
square foot classrooms. Precast wall panels, roof slabs and two (2) fully
outfitted bathroom modules will complete this precast classroom expansion.
The Construction Manager for this project is Christa Construction, Inc.
of NY and the Architect of Record is Perkins Eastman Architects PC of NY.
Oldcastle's sister company, Rotondo Precast of Telford, PA, will be
manufacturing the majority of the precast. |
