Project Summary

Bristol County Massachusetts Sheriff's Department
New Jail Addition at Dartmouth, MA

The Bristol County Jail in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts was built in the mid eighties to house 300 inmates. By 1996 the population had swelled to over 800. After evaluation the County along with the Massachusetts DCPO decided to develop an RFP for a 300 bed emergency modular addition in a design/build/lease format. Each proposing team was required to submit two envelopes:

The first was non-price where design and function, the construction team, material quality, schedules and similar non monetary issues were evaluated.

The second envelope contained the price and terms.

The Rotondo Team had both the high point total for non price qualifications and the low price.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is again going to end up with a secure, low maintenance all concrete building system in lieu of wood and steel trailer modules......and for less taxpayer dollars.

The components used to build this facility are all factory finished precast modules such as dorm rooms and bathrooms. They can be viewed here under our Modular Products section. Be sure also to view the component isometric drawings on-line to familiarize yourself with our approach.
