Expansion of PA-State Regional Correctional Facility

September 2005 Mercer, PA- The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has awarded a $ 9 million contract for the expansion at the State Correctional Institute in Mercer County. The prison's long awaited expansion will add 230 beds to the existing facility. The expansion will be composed of a 2-story Level III housing unit, perimeter lighting, intrusion detection system, sallyport, and expansion of the Medical Department.
Oldcastle Precast Modular Group was awarded the contract to design, engineer and manufacture the 128 fully outfitted precast correctional cells that will form the Level III Housing Unit. The cells will arrive at the jobsite with electrical fixtures , plumbing fixtures, connections, embeds, conduit and will include windows and glazing.
Mascaro Construction of PA is the General Contractor for this project and Astorino Architects of PA is the Architect of Record.
