Oldcastle announces new custom prison cell project
in Massachusetts
Billercia, MA -- November, 2002 ---Oldcastle Precast Modular Group
has recently received the contract for the design, prefabrication
and on-site / erection of the 256 custom precast prison cells for
the new 80,024 square foot Middlesex County Jail and House of Correction
in Billercia, MA. The new $ 36 million Middlesex County Jail and House
of Correction will be composed of two, four-story buildings housing
approximately 504 inmates.
Oldcastle will be outfitting the pre-painted cells with all electrical
and lighting fixtures, windows, bunks, combination lavatory/water
closet units or ADA lavatories with water closet, shelves, stools,
desks, and mirrors before shipping to the site. The design-build project
is in the beginning phase with erection of the precast cells scheduled
for July of 2003.
