New Jail Cell Modules for
MCI Concord Expansion, MA & Ontario County Jail, NY
Telford, Pa, May, 2002 -- Oldcastle Precast Modular Group has recently
been awarded the contracts to design, manufacture, deliver and erect
the jail cells for both the MCI Concord Correctional Facility Expansion
in Massachusetts and the Ontario County Jail in Canadaigua,
New York.
The new $ 9 million expansion at the MCI Concord, MA maximum level
security facility will house 60 inmates in the new 2-story housing
structure. Oldcastle is providing the 60 fully outfitted custom precast
concrete cells. The components for the pre-painted cells will be combination
lavatory/water closet units or ADA lavatories with water closet, light
fixtures, mirrors, fin tube radiator and receptacles. Oldcastle is
also supplying 8,600 square feet of hollowcore plank and 595 square
feet of insulated wall panels, which will finish out the structure.

The new $ 25 million Ontario County Jail in Canandaigua, New York
will include 240 fully outfitted precast correctional cells that will
house approximately 276 inmates. The new housing facilities will be
configured in a 2-story, (5) five building, 7-pod design . Two (2)
buildings will be all male general housing. The additional three (3)
buildings will be composed of two pods for special male housing, one
pod for male administration, 1 pod for minor occupancy and one building
that will be a female all custody unit.
Oldcastle's scope of work includes production and erection of 120
cells as well as outfitting the pre-painted 5-sided precast cells
with all electrical and lighting fixtures, doors, windows, bunks,
combination lavatory/water closet units or ADA lavatoryies with water
closet, shelves, stools and mirrors before shipping to the site. The
