OLDCASTLE SELECTED
FOR NEW HALL COUNTY DETENTION CENTER

/ Gainsville,GA: Oldcastle Precast Modular Group has been selected
to provide the fully outfitted precast concrete prison cells for the
new Hall County Detention Center in Gainesville, Georgia. The new
230,000 square foot, 1,066-bed facility, to be located on 50 acres
off Baber Road in Gainesville, will cost approximately $54 million
to construct.
Oldcastle Precast Modular
Group (OPMG) was awarded the contract to manufacture and erect the
precast concrete prison cells that will make up two, 6-story housing
units for the new detention center. The 4-bed cells will be similar
to dormitory style cells. OPMG will manufacture and fully outfit the
precast cells at their plant in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition
to installing all of the windows, furniture and light fixtures, OPMG
will pre-paint the cells before shipping to the site.
The Gainesville detention
center is Oldcastle's first county prison in Georgia. Completion of
the project is scheduled for the first quarter of 2007.
The construction manager
for this project is Turner Construction of Atlanta, GA and the Architect
of Record is Clemons Rutherford & Associates of Tallahassee, FL.
