Cells for New Federal Prison in California
Mendota Federal
Correctional Institute, CA- OPMG won the precast contract for the
new FCI medium security facility in Fresno County, California. The
institute will house 1,152 inmates and will consist of four buildings,
three general housing units (GHU) and one special housing unit (SHU).
The GHU will each be comprised of 256 correctional cells consisting
of four levels of 64 cells on every level; the two-story SHU will
consist of 96 correctional cells.
OPMG will be producing
the 864 insulated precast concrete prison cells, mezzanine balcony
slabs; floor slabs; ceiling slabs and plenum units at their sister
facility in Chandler Arizona. The precast prison cells will have an
exterior form liner finish and will be outfitted with electrical and
lighting fixtures, conduit and plumbing. Dick Pacific is the general
contractor and Arrington Watkins is the Architect of Record. Sandra
Marks is the OPMG Project Manager for this project.
