Oldcastle to produce jails cells for
Barnstable County Jail and House of Correction

Telford, Pa, June, 2002 --Oldcastle Precast Modular Group has recently been awarded the contract to design, manufacture, deliver and erect the custom precast jail cells for the new Barnstable County Jail and House of Correction in Bourne, Massachusetts. The total correctional facility project is approximately $33 million. The new Barnstable County Jail and House of Correction will replace the existing facility. It will provide 300 cells (not including the holding cells), that include special management beds, such as disciplinary segregation,
administrative segregation, medical segregation, as well as HOC (House of Correction) and
jail cells. The new facility is a single structure so that all circulation can take place within the
building.

The facility is planned to house both women and men with a security level of medium,
maximum and intake. The design includes four (4)-housing units that are made up of nine (9)
pods. All cell pods are stacked, with a mezzanine level. The 600 bed project will utilize
Oldcastle's fully outfitted, 5-sided precast concrete correctional cells. Oldcastle will be
outfitting the pre-painted cells with all electrical and lighting fixtures, doors, windows, bunks,
combination lavatory/water closet units or ADA lavatories with water closet, shelves, stools,
desks, and mirrors before shipping to the site. Erection of the precast cells should begin in October of 2002.
